First and foremost, I am a portrait artist. My artwork communicates the thoughts, feelings and stories of the people I portray. As it is with art, the definition of a portrait can be many things. Portraits and art can be made in so many different ways.
As a Virginia wedding photographer, I do not choose a text book approach or by contrast a random approach to the making of a portrait. Whether I am working in my studio or elsewhere, my goal is always to make a defining statement about my subject.
I have learned that the best way to accomplish this goal is to know my client on a personal level when possible. Having this opportunity to know my client builds a bridge of understanding that enables a collaborative and creative spirit
As such, my artwork treats my subjects with dignity and humanity resulting in honest, accurate and stunning wedding portraits.
I feel that commissioning a portrait speaks volumes about someone who is considering having their wedding portrait made. We're not simply talking about vanity or a head shot here, but rather a very personal statement that requires the vision and technique of a true artist and craftsman.
Finally, as an artist, I believe in handling and preparing all of my artwork. I edit and print all of my artwork in my studio to ensure that only the finest quality and longest lasting artwork is made available to my clients. This is just one of the ways that we differ from the many Virginia wedding photographers. With so many artists outsourcing their work these days, I am glad to say that I am able to artistically and technically carry my artwork and vision from start to finnish.
